SJ has been in the theatre industry for over 30 years and dons many hats. Acting credits include: Miss Stacey in Anne of Green Gables, Tanya in Mammamia (Charlottetown Festival); 5 seasons as the Villian in the Ross Petty Panto; Bakers Wife in Into the Woods (Neptune & 1000 Islands), Velma in Chicago (Mayfield-Sterling Nom); Joanna in Take Care and Holly in Myth of the Ostrich (Here For Now Theatre) ; Dr. Charlotte in Falsettos and Kate in the Wild Party (Musical Stage Co.), Rona in The 25th Annual... (Belfry Theatre); Mary in Mary Poppins (two seasons), Fantine in Les Miz, and is proud to be the first Canadian Alison Bechdel in Funhome (Arts Club Theatre); SJ has played Patsy in A Closer walk with Patsy Cline in over 12 productions across Canada.
SJ is a director/choreographer and has been an associate director at the Stratford Festival for 2 seasons and a choreographer for 1. She is a Dora nominated choreographer for Eclipse Theatres production of Kiss of the Spiderwoman in Toronto at the Don Jail. Choreography: Altar Boyz (Arts Club Theatre). Direction: Out of Order (Drayton Ent); Ale wives (HFN Theatre). Direction and Choreography: My Fair Lady (critics choice award), Alice vs Wonderland (Bluebridge Rep Theatre);The Buddy Holly Story, Chickens (Chemainus Theatre); Godspell, Blood Brothers, SUDS (Arts Club), Into The Woods, West Side Story, Wintertime and If/Then (Canadian College of Performing Arts).
Sara-Jeanne was the Executive Director of the Eclipse Theatre Company, and is the current Creative Managing Director of the Here For Now Theatre Company. Because her plate isn’t full enough… during the pandemic SJ opened a boutique called FAWN on YORK STREET. @fawn.overyou
