Roy Lewis is a Founding Member of the Obsidian Theatre Company and a member of the Stratford Festival Company for 16 years, where he’s played the Chorus and Lord Chancellor in Henry VIII, Bookseller, Cairon in The Neverending Story and Judge Hathorne in The Crucible, Lepidus in Julius Caesar, Morocco in The Merchant of Venice, Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Cyclops in The Odyssey.
For theaters across Canada he has played The Stage Manager in Our Town, Abel Magwitch in Great Expectations (Neptune); Prospero for Young People’s Theatre, Mr. Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life (Theatre NorthWest, B.C.); Charley in Death of a Salesman (Drayton); Camillo in The Winter’s Tale (Groundling Theatre). Roy has directed 10 plays. He is a published poet and playwright, his plays Moments With You and I See the Crimson Wave: The Nat Love Story had their premiers at the Here For Now Theatre and Talk Is Free Theatre.
